I handle the awkward part:speaking with people who know your work, finding what they genuinely trust about you,and turning it into language for your new service.
No asking people to praise you. No awkward testimonial requests. No turning vague nice comments into copy yourself. I do that part.

Jo Bernard
I am the person who has the awkward conversations for you, finds what people actually trust about your work, and turns it into language you can use without overclaiming.
Her ability to work with you to determine what you really need is unparalleled. What truly sets her apart is the unwavering trust I have in her.
Michael Kaminski, Co-Founder, Digirati
Before
You are capable. You know it. The people who have worked with you know it.
But none of that shows up on the page.
And every time you go to fix it you hit the same wall. Ask for testimonials. Chase praise. Perform a confidence you do not quite feel yet.
You close the laptop. You tell yourself you will sort it later.
Later keeps moving.
After
You open your laptop and you are not dreading it anymore.
Someone asks for your page and you just send it.
Someone asks if you have done this before and you just answer.
No hollow feeling before you speak. No quiet hope that they do not push further.
Just the calm of knowing that what you are saying is true and you can show it.
Twenty minutes. No obligation. No sales process.
What Credible From the Start is
Credible From the Start is a credibility language service for people offering a new service without formal testimonials, reviews or case studies yet.
We talk. I find out what you need and what you think you need, because those are not always the same thing. Then I interview a small number of people who have seen how you work. I find what repeats across those conversations, what people trust you with, how they experience you, what connects naturally to this service, and turn it into language for your page, profile or proposal.
That is what testimonials actually are. Other people saying honestly what they trust about you. This finds the same thing. It just does not wait for clients you have not had yet.
The language comes from outside you, gathered professionally. That is what makes it credible in a way that self-written copy rarely is. And what makes it possible to use without second-guessing whether you are overclaiming.
This is not for everyone
This service has a specific use. If any of the following are true, it is probably not the right fit right now.
This is not for you if you already have strong testimonials for this specific service and just need someone to write them up.
This is not for you if you are looking for personal branding in the broader sense: content strategy, LinkedIn planning, visibility coaching.
This is not for you if you want copy that makes you sound more impressive than you are.
This is not for you if you are not yet sure what your service actually is. That conversation needs to happen before this one.
This is not for you if you want a quick turnaround with minimal involvement. This requires a real conversation and a short review call. It takes ten to fourteen business days.
You stop being stuck
Right now you cannot get clients without credibility and you cannot get credibility without clients. That loop is what keeps people paralysed for months. What you get from this breaks it. Not by pretending the testimonials exist. By building something honest that works before they do.
Each section is marked: say this confidently, say this carefully, do not say this yet. You know exactly where you stand. No guesswork. No blank page. No waiting.
Credibility extraction session
A focused conversation about the service, what feels hard to prove, and what you would not want to overstate. Surfaces the things usually left unsaid.
Professional perspective interviews
Three to five short conversations with people who have seen how you work. I handle the questions and the awkwardness. You stay out of the room.
Pattern finding
I look across the interviews for what repeats: what people trust you with, how they experience you, and what connects to the service you are now offering.
Permission-safe wording
Direct quotes are only used with explicit permission. Otherwise themes are reworded into language you can use safely. Nothing goes in without your knowledge.
A “why this service makes sense from me” section
The bridge between your background, your way of working and the service you are starting to promote. The piece most people cannot write about themselves.
A “what people tend to trust me with” section
A grounded alternative to a testimonial block. Specific enough to be useful, honest enough to stand behind.
A “how I work” section
A clear process description that helps people understand what to expect. Process is proof when testimonials do not exist yet.
Ready-to-use responses for the awkward questions
Prepared wording for the questions that currently make you pause. Do you have testimonials? Have you done this before? Can I see examples? Why should I trust you with this?
Page-ready copy
No more staring at a blank page trying to find the right words. The language is finished. Copy it into your landing page, LinkedIn profile, service page, proposal or intro email. No rewriting. No adapting. Just paste it in and you are done.
Credibility Comfort Check
A review call before final delivery. We walk through each section together and mark its comfort level so you can use it without cringing or overclaiming.
Twenty minutes. No obligation. No sales process.
What if it does not feel like me?
It will. The language comes from what people actually say about you, not from a template or a formula. I find what is already true and make it clear. I do not invent a version of you that sounds more impressive than you are.
And if something does not feel right when you read it, we fix it. That is exactly what the review call is for. You will not be handed a finished document and left to live with it. You will see it, react to it, and we will adapt it until you are proud to stand behind it.
This will not sound like a stranger wrote it. It will sound like the clearest, most direct version of something that was already true about you.
Why this service works
For more than 30 years my work has involved sitting with people, listening carefully, and working out what makes them credible to someone else. In that time I have interviewed thousands of people and advised on hundreds of senior appointments. I know within minutes what is landing and what is not. Not what they think makes them credible. What actually lands with another person.
I have done this in recruitment, in executive search, in business development. I know what sounds true and what sounds like someone trying too hard. I know what a stranger will trust immediately and what they will quietly question.
This service uses exactly that skill, applied to your new service instead of a job search or a hiring decision.
I am not a copywriter who interviews you and writes what you tell me. I speak with the people around you, find the patterns they may not even be aware of, and turn those patterns into language that holds up because it came from outside you, not just from your own account of yourself.
What people notice
This service is new. The skills behind it are not. These are things people have said about working with me over the past thirty years.
Jo helped me shine the spotlight on my strengths but importantly areas for improvement. I appreciate her empathy, candour and ability to help me with self-accountability.
Shane Williams, Technology Advisor
She has a straightforward, friendly and relaxed character. This helps people relax around her, but also creates the impetus for real work.
Deepa Shetty, Senior Client Engagement Manager
Jo has a natural, engaging way of working with people. She guided me through the process in a way that was genuinely helpful, ensuring there were definite actions to move me forward.
Matt Porter, Practical AI for Business
I have been doing versions of this work for a long time. This service packages it specifically for people starting out.
What happens and how long it takes
The process runs over ten to fourteen business days from our first session. That is deliberate. The pattern finding and writing cannot be rushed without it showing in the output, and the output is the whole point.
Fit conversation
You book a short fit conversation. This is not a sales call. It is a brief check that the timing is right and the service fits what you actually need. Around twenty minutes.
Deposit and scheduling
If it is the right fit, you pay a fifty percent deposit to confirm your place. This triggers scheduling of your credibility extraction session.
Extraction session
We have your extraction session. Around sixty to ninety minutes. I ask the questions. You do not need to prepare anything beyond showing up honestly.
Perspective interviews
I contact the people you have identified. Three to five short conversations of around fifteen minutes each. I handle all the scheduling and the questions. You do not need to do anything during this stage.
Synthesis and review
I find the patterns and write the pack. Then we have a short review call to walk through the language together, mark the comfort levels, and make any adjustments before final delivery.
Credible From the Start
This is the work most people spend months avoiding and never quite finish. The investment reflects a complete professional engagement. Not a writing package.
$2,500 AUD
That includes everything listed above: the fit conversation, the extraction session, the perspective interviews, the pattern finding, the full credibility language pack and the Credibility Comfort Check review call.
A fifty percent deposit confirms your place. The remainder is due on delivery.
Because this involves professional interviews and a real synthesis process, I work with a small number of people at a time. If you are at the stage where you need this, it is worth not waiting, not because of an artificial deadline, but because every conversation you have without credible language is a conversation you are having at a disadvantage.
If we get to the end and the language does not feel true or usable, we keep working until it does.
Before you book, a short conversation makes sense
Not to convince you. Just to make sure the timing is right, the service fits what you actually need, and you know what to expect before anything is confirmed.
Around twenty minutes. No pressure in either direction. If this is not the right fit right now, I will say so.
Twenty minutes. No obligation. No sales process.
You do not have to wait until you have testimonials to be credible.
You need to make the credibility that already exists around you visible.
